Mr.+Adame

“From this area. Grew up in Covina, but went to school in El Monte my whole life.

What high school/college did you attend?

“Came here. Arroyo. Class of ’08. I started off at Citrus, went to APU for Bachelor’s and Credential.

How do you like Arroyo?

“I love Arroyo. I worked here, came here. I was a student, aide, did my clinical practice for teaching, and now I’m finally teaching here at Arroyo.”

How long have you been teaching?

“I mean I’ve been teaching only the last few days [officially], this year.”

Why did you choose your subject to teach?

“I’ve been working with special ed for the last 4 years. Everyone says that we need those type of teachers, and there’s only certain types of teachers made for that job and I feel like I’m one of them. I have good patience with them. I don’t want to say I’m used to it, but those are the type of students I like working with. I could teach any class, but I know they need a special breed for special ed and I have that in me to do it.’

What are your favorite hobbies?

“I like taking pictures. I coach wrestling. I like taking pictures of sports. I also love going to Disneyland and Halloween stuff.”

Type of music you listen to?

“I listen to a lot of different stuff. With the radio, I guess I listen to a lot of KROQ. And then KIIS FM with some pop and just a dance beat type stuff. There’s nothing wrong with a little techno.”

What is your least favorite subject?

“it probably would be English. I’m pretty happy that I don’t have to teach that one. Math is my favorite, followed by science and history.”

What is your best high school memory?

“I think my senior year when I got voted ‘most spirited’.”

What would you be doing if you weren’t teaching?

“Besides teaching, I really don’t know what I’d be doing.”

What are you involved in outside of school?

“Finishing my credential, for sure and getting this job so. Other than that, I’ve pushed everything to the side for now. I’m just trying to secure this job.”
