Academic Decathlon is among one of the many scholarly clubs at Arroyo. Their objective is to compete against other schools and win trophies and medals as an indication representing their ambition towards success. In addition, they even bring pride along with dignity and gratification for our school. Its members practice after school in order to prepare for their next competition where they study, learn and hangout. Therefore, giving them an opportunity to be always ahead in their grades, making them highly qualified candidates in the school.

The club meets on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:00-5:00 pm after school in Room 79  where they meet and hold meetings.

The club officers are the following: President: Neo Maren,Vice President: Hai Chou, Treasurer: Mia Cabrera, Secretary: Emily Lam, Club Advisor: Mr. Snow Lu.

There are 9 members in the group that work together and prepare for the competitions which took place during the month of December.

Mr. Snow Lu, club advisor,  said that his favorite part of the club is attending the “banquet” as they receive free food and results from the competition,” Lu said. Overall, they get rewarded for their hard work and determination.

The students put their hard work into action and turn it into success as the purpose of the club is to improve academically in education and compete against other schools while having fun.

If the club seems like something you’d be like to a part of, try out next year it’s not too late. If you are interested then talk to Mr. Lu.
