On September 12th, the class of 2026 came out to the Bergstrom stadium to celebrate their first senior event of the year, Senior Sunrise The graduating class was pumped with excitement at the gates waiting to be let in at 6AM.
The class council of 2026 organized this special event with colorful backdrops, crafts, and some delicious breakfast that was served by some of our Arroyo High School staff members. It is a once in a lifetime event that the seniors get to experience until heading off to the real world.

“My favorite part was watching them enjoy their time together, I was so happy for them but also emotional for these seniors because it is the beginning to the end.” said Mrs. Catherine Flores, class of 2026 coordinator.
The class of 2026 played a huge part in making the event special. They fundraised money throughout the years to make sure this event was free for every senior attending. In past years the food would cost money, But luckily this year the class of 2026 made their hard work pay off with everyone having a blast.
“My favorite activity was making my senior box with my friends and my boyfriend. I think being able to store my senior memories in this personalized box is a good way to start off the school year.” said senior, Hazel Yah.
Along with the decorations and activities, many of the seniors came in their custom senior year! From senior crowns to senior jeans. It was very impressive seeing each and every student decked out and proud of the milestone that they have officially reached.
Students laid down their blankets and belongings all across the field and stands. Sadly, the weather was gloomy which

had made the grass and stands damp and no sunrise until later on in the day. Although, this did not affect the 2026 class from having a memorable time.
The significant event was filled with bittersweet emotions. As all the seniors all looked like they were having a good time, there was a lot of gratitude from each student realizing that they are truly seniors now and almost to the finish line. This moment was filled with photos, hugs, laughs, and even some happy tears.
