Students of Arroyo High School are excited for the upcoming year to set and gather their goals to achieve this following year 2024.
Arroyo High School students will provide their goals for 2024, defining their values and priorities, as well as investing in themselves. Senior, Emma Olivas, is the head of publicity of ASB and has her own business.
“My goal for 2024 is to do well on track because it is my first year. I would like to be more healthy, mentally and physically. I also want to explore more in my business, and to make more money,” said Olivas.
Olivas is an outstanding student with many extracurricular activities.
“I have no AP classes, but I have a good set of classes, and I am on track. I am in a lot of clubs, Leo Club, volunteering, ASB head of Publicity, and I have my own business outside of school. My business is for my art, I am a freelancer, I will do any projects that people will ask me to,” said Olivas.
When asked how she will accomplish her goals, Olivas said, “I will accomplish my goals by working very hard toward every goal I have, slowly but surely, and I know there will be obstacles.”
Senior, Ashley Maung, is driven to work with the United Nations.
“When I get older, I want to have a nice job, I want to work with the United Nations because I want to graduate with a degree in International Relations, and I really want to make my parents proud, also buy my mom a house,” said Maung.
Maung states, “My goals for 2024 are to get my driving permit and then my license, and also travel over spring break and the summer. I want to graduate, finish my college apps, and end the year with a good group of friends.”
When asked what she can learn to make herself better in 2024, Maung said, “I can stop being a procrastinator, stop being lazy, I need to get my assignments in on time, and cut every negative stuff out of my life.”
Maung will accomplish her goals by setting and working hard by being focused on her goals instead of trivial stuff.
Senior, Cierra Schiava’s goals are to also get her driving license and Schiava said, “And for real estate, and use that money that I get selling houses towards college.”
“I am a shelter person, I don’t really like to do stuff, but now that I am out and about more, I get the feeling that I want to do more in school and life, now I am doing positive things that are very good for me,” said Schiava.
Schiava is also “I am surprised because I am getting out of my comfort zone this year and it changed the person who I am, mature-wise,” said Schiava. She learned to not procrastinate to better herself in 2024.
“Achieving that goal is important to me because I want to make my parents pound not only for myself but my family since I want to be a positive influence on my younger cousins,” said Schiava.
