The annual winter assembly was a hit this year. It brought together music, theater, colorguard, cheerleading performances, and the holiday spirit. Teachers and coaches had been working behind the scenes for weeks just to make sure the performances were prepared. Mrs. Jennifer Stanley, choir director, had a big part in planning the performance of the 2025 Winter Assembly.

“I thought that it went really well. I was really pleased with the wide variety of performances we had. I thought that all of the groups were really well prepared and that it really gave a good impression to the students about our performing arts programs, particularly the students who are familiar with the programs and that we offer these classes,” Mrs. Stanley said.
She also said the performances showed how strong the school’s performing arts community has become.
“I think there were two highlights. The first one was when all of the choirs and the wind ensemble performed at the end. I thought that was a really nice way to end the performance. I really thought that Advanced Theater did an exceptional job with their scenes from Mean Girls,” Stanley said.
Mr. Daniel Ingram, theater teacher, set up the drama performance to the musical “Mean Girls”. From the props to the acting, the crowd loved it and cheered on the whole performance. The students portrayed the performance with polished acting and singing.
“For me, it was the theater performance. The first assembly, we had a sound issue that took a little

while to fix, so the second performance, the second assembly, the musical theater, the audience really wrapped it,” Mr. Ingram said.
He said the experience reminded students how important practice and patience are in live theater
“Probably the after-school rehearsals. Just refreshing the students’ memories of the performance, and it was sort of an abbreviated performance. Those two scenes don’t go back to back, so we took one song from act one and one song from act 2 and spliced them together,” Ingram said.
Mr. Aron Campbell, band director, directed the wind ensemble, orchestra, and concert band.

“I thought the assembly went really well. I was more nervous than the students were, being my first time here. All the students performed well. We got nothing but great comments from the audience that was there, and different faculty members that were there. So, it gives me a good base where I can start to kind of expand on and maybe tweak a few things. Get myself mentally ready in advance, but yeah, it went well,” Mr. Campbell said.
He especially enjoyed preparing the music with his students during the holiday season.
“My favorite part about planning the performance for the band, of course, is the holiday season, so just giving everybody a chance to go through the process of working all the Christmas music, Hanukkah music, and different cultural music. It was awesome. And the best part, which I like, to collaborate with all the different groups, was being able to rehearse with not just the band, but band and choir,” Campbell said.
