Dalylah Mora and Jayden Cevallos were crowned as homecoming queen and king at the homecoming football game against the Rosemead Panthers on October 24.

“I was really happy when getting announced as the homecoming king, it just felt like all the hard work had paid off because there was a lot of baking we did for our campaigns,” Jayden said.
The title of the homecoming queen meant a lot to Dalylah.
“It felt really good, I was really happy. I had my mom and dad with me, and I felt really happy that I was the first one in our family to win something for school, to be a part of a school activity,” Dalylah said.
The 2025 Homecoming theme was Alice in Wonderland. There were many things that helped showcase that the Knights went down the rabbit hole during the magical night. There was giant chess, mini golf, a tarot card reader, and much more!

Mr. Brendan Buono is the students’ affairs director. He is usually in charge of things like dances like HOCO, and supporting assemblies like the BBW.
“We have been planning for the homecoming dance and the theme and all that since June. We had the theme picked out in June, we had our reveal poster for BBW, and we had that done back in June. We were ready to rock and roll when the school year started.”
Having to do other planning with DJs and vendors, ASB wouldn’t have enough time to ask students about the theme, which is why they must select the theme early.
“And so really the planning is contacting DJs, and that was after we sent out an email at the beginning of the year to students asking what kind of activities they would want, what kind of food they want, and suggestions for music, and part of that, we listen to the students.”

“And so, the big things we have to do besides the reveal poster is we have to do all four class councils, paint their own posters, and we have to give them time based on the theme. We have to figure out when we are going to reveal it, and it would be BBW this year, and then lining up vendors like food vendors, photobooths, and all the fun stuff.”
BBW is the earliest event we have in the school year, so revealing the theme at a school rally helped showcase it to all students at Arroyo High School.
