President Obama walked out before the city of Chicago to assert his final goodbye before leaving the White House on January 20th. Mr. Obama spoke proudly of his accomplishments during the two terms he served as President of the United States of America. The opening of a new chapter with Cuba and the shutdown of Iran’s nuclear weapons program without firing a single shot was atop President Obama’s speech. Also mentioned was the reverse of The Great Recession, marriage equality, Obamacare, and most importantly the assassination of the mastermind of 9/11 and Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden.

Together with his accomplishments, he stated four threats to our great nation. The growing inequality, demographic change, the “shrinking world”, and the spectre of terrorism are America’s main concern as we head into the future. The racial tensions among this generation is a concern for the future of America. For the future of the next generation. The demographic change in this melting pot of a country continues to struggle because the people of this nation cannot get along. In President Obama’s eye’s, America is exceptional. “So that’s what we mean when we say America is exceptional — not that our nation has been flawless from the start, but that we have shown the capacity to change and make life better for those who follow” said the Commander in Chief. Wanting to lead by example, he hopes to ensure a peaceful transition of office as President Bush had done with President Obama.

“In 10 days, the world will witness a hallmark of our Democracy,” said President Obama.

He has fulfilled his duty as President of the United States and passes the torch to President Elect Trump January 20th.
